I first heard Shimatani Hitomi singing in the Japan Record Award 2003, and I fell in love with her song "Perseus", the name sake of this fanlisting ^_^ Her voice is so soothing and sweet, and she is able to shout and sing in a really fresh voice! Her songs also contrast from other songs with the fact that a lot are happy and flowery lyrics, and to add to that, many of the songs are very 'cultural' and nature-like. The song "Shanti" came from an Indian word that means "peace", "Perseus" is a Greek hero, "La Fiesta" is obviously "party" in Spanish, and "Poinsettia" has a Chinese instrument playing in the back. All I could say is that, Shimatani won my heart with her singing ^_^ Not to mention she's really pretty.
